Linen Blouse
Comments open at {Natrual Dyes}. I finished this blouse using a pattern out of {Sew Liberated} twenty stylish projects for the modern sewists by Meg McElwee. This one does not have the puffy sleeve that the pattern called for. I made one blouse using mater-
ial, one using a recycled shirt and this one pictured here was made out of a vintage table linen.
Natural Dye for Linen
I used natural dyes on this blouse I made with a table linen to cover up the stains that were on it. The embroid-
ery threads got a little muted, but at least the colors didn't turn all one color. I didn't want to use commerical dyes because I thought they would for sure turn the embroidery threads all one color. I used dan-
delion and some other natural dyes before settling on using tea. I just wasn't getting it dark enough to cover the stains. I need to learn a bit more about natural dyes. Do some experimenting. I lost my other blog entry trying to add this pic. I never saved the before pic. It is fun to experiment with natural dyes. I was able to turn the trim so it would show on the outside of the underarm of both the sleeves. I was happy with the results when finished with this project. {Pray 4}

Pop-Up Card
You can find a link to instructions and patterns at the ship pop-up I made here: {Robert Sabuda}. I find that double sided pattern card stock works well for these cards if you don't want to go through coloring them. I added a ribbon and made the card a little longer than it was suppose to be because the candles were sticking out a little bit above the card when I shut it. I just glued ribbon to a strip of cardstock and glued it to the card in the middle. I used glue stick & doublesided photo tape. There is a cute reindeer I might try for Christmas next year. You might check out One Pretty Thing blog for another doe and fawn pop-up card that looks a little easier. I might try making both next year. Just remember that if you are going to mail them they just might cost you more postage to do so.

Hoxsey Cancer Clinics
This morning I started reading, When Healing Becomes a Crime The Amazing Story of Hoxsey Cancer Clinics and the Return of Alternative Therapies by Kenny Ausubel Forward by Bernie Siegel, M.D. I met someone who went to this clinic years ago, who was cured of cancer. I had written the name of the clinic down on the inside cover of a notebook. I came upon it while looking through some of my notebooks. So I decided to looked it up and the book came up, so I looked into seeing if the public library had it. It did, so I checked it out. I've got books from other states also, so check out your interlibrary loan if your public library doesn't have the book. Read it! Here is a Documentary Film to watch for free online: {Hoxsey How Healing Becomes A Crime Documentary}

Alkaline vs Acid
While trying to find some information on Vinegar, Cornmeal & Alkali this website {Alkaline Vs Acid} popped up that sparked my interest, about diseases. I bought myself this: {Home Test PH Kit}, but when my son was here I ended up giving it to him to use. Edited in 8-22: Watch this movie: {Food Matters} There is men-
tion of cancer & Vitamin C. Vitamin C not taken by mouth but another way. You'll have to watch the movie. There are other natural cures and I know it's not for everyone. It's your own personal choice to make. One thing I know about cancer is to stay away from sugar. Sugar is fuel for cancer and candida. They love it and it makes both cancer cells and candida grow. Not a good thing to eat. I'm not a doctor and I can't give advice. But learn all you can about cancer so you can make better health choices and better food choices. Also focus on the people who beat cancer and not the ones who didn't. I am switching to natural cleaners for the home, because they are the healthier choice. GOD BLESS YOUR HEALTH IN JESUS PRECIOUS HOLY NAME, AMEN!!! I know some people do not believe in GOD because they do not see Him, but that doesn't mean He doesn't exist. You can't see the air you breath either but it is there all the same. I believe in Him. I've went through a lot of hardship in my life, and the number one relationship I've been able to count on is GOD, even if things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to. He has always been with me and He promised to never leave me.

Apple Butter-Crisp-Rings
I made a couple of pint jars of apple butter from a recipe out of the cookbook, Just a Matter of Thyme. There was a recipe for an apple crisp but I had ran out of flour and butter. So my substitutes were olive oil and homeade oatmeal cookies. I added I think it was a 1/4 c sugar, a few shakes of cinnamon and lemon juice from a half lemon to the apples. I crumbled two or three oatmeal cookies over the apples and mixed it up as my substitute for flour, then I crum-
bled some oatmeal cookies into a separate bowl added a little sugar, a little olive oil and mixed it up and added it on top of the apples that I had in a baking dish. Than I baked it. Yummy! I got the dried apple recipe from the book, {Possum Living}. {Thistles}

Amongst Cabbages
I bought this some years ago at an estate sale. Do you think it's the first altered book? lol! The split peas in this book reminds me of when, I use to love to go out into the garden when I was a child and eat fresh peas off the vine. You'd find me amongst the peas, although I love cabbage too. One of my sils gave me a recipe she got from one of her aunts called, Iya Oya some years ago. You saute garlic til brown in olive oil, add a can of oil packed tuna and cooked spaghetti. So yummy. We added peas a lot of times. This year I think it was I didn't have any noodles so I decided to use shredded cabbage and a can of water packed tuna instead. So yummy and my favorite way to make it now. Add salt & pepper. {P L}

7 The manna was like coriander seed and looked like resin. 8 The people went around gathering it, and then ground it in a handmill or crushed it in a mortar. They cooked it in a pot or made it into cakes. And it tasted like something made with olive oil. 9 When the dew settled on the camp at night, the manna also came down. ~Numbers 11:7-9

Bedstraw, Catchweed, Cleavers
I've been reading about cleavers in the book called, Stop Colds And Flu The Natural Way by Nancy Pauling Bruning. It is so exciting to learn about weeds and their benefits. Medicine Soup
A friend gave me this recipe called Medicine Soup: Chopped onion, drained can of corn, green beans with juice in can, 3 peeled chopped carrots, 3 or 4 chopped potatoes, 1/2 c. chopped cabbage, 1 or more cloves of garlic, 1 large can or 2 medium cans of blended tomatoes, add water as needed, add herbs as desired, parsley, sweet basil, Italian herbs, salt, eat many bowls of hot steaming soup to "cure" especially, colds and flu! Can add other veggies like, broccoli, peas, beets, celery, etc. Red beans will make it a minestrone type more hearty soup. Barley or veggie meat makes it heav-
ier meal. Add pasta to vary it. Cook it like you would any type of Minestrone soup recipe.

Could it Be?
I think it might be Hairy Bitter Cress? Check here: {The Seed Site} to see what you think. It looks like the second weed down from the top. Here is a recipe that states it's edible, but I think I want to learn more before I eat {Hairy Bitter Cress}. There is other info on other weeds, from the same site called: {Eat Weeds}. I'll have to see if I can find it in any books. It would be a really good idea to take classes to learn more about edible and med-icinal plants. Some plants have look alikes that are poisonous. Do you know of any good books with great photos about edible and medicinal plants? Looking forward to this book: {Edible Wild Plants} Wild Foods from Dirt to Plate by John Kallas Ph.D.

Robert Sabuda
In February I made a Valentine's Day Pop-up {Heart} card. It was my second pop-up card. I made this {Ship} Pop-up card also using {Robert Sabuda's} instructions on his website. He has books for sale and if your interested in this type of art check out his web-
site. Take a close up of the two cards. I added a little twist in the water. The first card shows kind of how it is suppose to be and I decided that it needed to be a different color so I started playing with the scissors and glue. I used what I had to make the card. I messed up and the card was to small so I added a border. I glued a message at the front of the boat area. I still have a lot of practis-
ing to do. I couldn't get the deck to do what I wanted in the back so I glued it on the outside. {Creative Illustration Workshop}{Pray 4}
