{~*~On Being Thankful~*~}

There is a letter/prayer/poem to God in the book called, Journey through Heartsongs by Mattie J.T. Stepanek that I love. It is called, On Being Thankful, 1995. Check out the book if you'd like to find out what the poem says. I think it is beautiful. http://www.mattieonline.com/ Read the poem on the website called For Our World. I think it is touching! May Your Lives Be Blessed With Peace!

{~**Merry Christmas**~}

Have a Very Merry, Merry Blessed Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!!! Hope You are Enjoying the Holiday's!!! {OPT} This is the Snowman ornament I made. One of those last minute type of ideas. Next to it is one of the ornaments dd taught me how to make last year by adding a couple two or three different craft or acrylic paints to the inside of a clear glass bulb. Swirl, drain out extra paint and let dry. Put hanger back to hang on tree. You can see part of one of the other ones. I think the lighter ones show up better on the tree at night. Happy Holiday's, Merry Christmas and God Jul in Swedish!!!

{~*~Post Office~*~}

Mailing Christmas Cards, she had put on a upside down stamp, by accident on one of the envelopes. Is that all right, she said? Yes, Do you know what that means? Her answer, I Love You? I Love You Too, he says! It causes her to smile with a little giggle to go along with it. He explains how it all started. She says; Oh, I had thought it started this way? He goes into more of how it all began. Such a nice Postman. He's always being so nice to people! I Like that about him. Happy Solstice He says. Explains it. Oh, You Too! Have you smiled or giggled or said I Love You, today? You never know when someone just might need to hear they are loved! You never know just how much it might make the difference in their life! I want you to know you are loved! {{{Hugs}}}

{~*~Read Matthew 11:28-30~*~}

Brought out the Nativity and put it up,also the white glitter sliegh and decorated the tree with some dd & mine marblized painted glass ornaments we made last year. The lighter colors show up better on the tree.

{~*~*~Mumblina~*~*~}

This is the result of the Mumblina Pattern I spoke about in an entry in November. I traced that Vintage Dala horse behind the Pink Pony and tweaked it and came up with this pony. All the embellishments were a progressive thought. Vintage buttons, Even a heart button, recycled jeans, shirt and the pink material came from the Goodwill. That moose next to it came from the Goodwill also. It is musical. You just move it and a beautiful sound comes from it. The little russian doll I'll have to look up the name is also from a Thrift Shop. We don't have our tree decorated yet. I called the Pattern Mumblina because I didn't want to say yet at the time what I was making till I was finished. My first attempt turned out to look like a cat. Smaller and I am not finished with it yet. I still have some things to learn about making stuffed animals. Maybe tweaked isn't the right word. Maybe I should say I made adjustments to the traced Dala to make it into the pony. Two other photos below of it. Hope Your Enjoying the Holiday Season Everyone! {Saddle} {Belly Bottom} {Stuffed Toy Tutorial} {Mumblina Pattern} {My First Attempt}

{~*~*~*(Saddle)*~*~*~}

This is a view of the sad- dle and mane and tail. Jeans and recycled paisley shirt of mine. I decoupage that shotgun poster onto that piece of redwood. That little sleigh you see is also from the Goodwill. Shalom

{~*~*(BellyBottom)*~*~}

This is what the under- neath part looks like. I also put three white flower buttons on a cute jumper to give my dgrd. I used my feather weight vintage singer sewing machine and also some of it I stitched by hand.

{~*~Movie~*~}

The movie, The Bible In The Beginning 1966 with lots of the oldie but goodie actors and actresses in it, was on last night on TBN. Michael Parks as Adam. John Huston playing the voices of God and he is Noah in the moive also. Peter O'Toole as the three angels. Georage C. Scott as Abraham. Ava Gardneer as Sarah. Stephan Boyd was in it and others. Look it up online if your interested. It was really good. I know It's a Wonderful life was on too last night, but we have it on video. So we can watch that anytime during the Holidays or anytime for that matter. Hope Your Lives and Holiday's are Blessed and Happy!

{~*~Reading Rainbow~*~}

http://www.pbskids.org/readingrainbow I love this show. Check out their book section and their show on the PBS station. Check local listings for the time it is on in your area. One day the children's book you write and/or illustrate could be featured on the Reading Rainbow show. It's a possibility! Today was about different types of art. They even had a show on kids who's parents were in prison and different children's books about that sub- ject. Remember not all kids lives are filled with Rain- bow's of Sunshine. http://www.childrentochildren.org/

{~*~Mint Chips & Brittle~*~}

Do they make mint chips for baking anymore? I went to two stores and not even a spot on the shelf for mint chips. I want to make chocolate mint fudge. Guess I'll have to check some more stores when I am out. I was just surprised not to see any bags of it and wondered. Found a recipe for {Graham Craker Brittle} Happy Holiday's!

{~*~Egg Substitute~*~}

I was reading in the Reminisce magazine about a woman that learned what to use as a substitue for an egg in a cake. She had said that in the winter when her grand- mother was making a cake and didn't have an egg, she went outside to get a spoonfull of soft snow and folded it into the cake just before putting it in the oven. She had said, she did this herself, too. I really like the stories in this magazine that people send in about the old days. Here is a link for it. http://www.reminisce.com I am really curious about this substitute and wonder if anyone else has tried this? More storms on the way so, I have to shut down the computer for now. Have a Blessed Day!

{~*~Vintage Sewing Info~*~}

http://vintagesewing.info/1950s/52-hmh/hmh-toc.html I was looking for a pattern to make a beret and found some patterns for different hats you can make at the link I provided. I had made a hat b/4 from a coat. I am not one who likes to wear a long coat, so I cut part of the coat off and made a hat to match. I gave it away eventually to a Thrift Shop. I don't remember if I ever took a picture with my camera of it or not. It was the first hat I had made and I used the lining from the coat inside the hat also. If you are needing gift ideas you might give one of these patterns a try. Think of what you can refashion if you don't have any material to make one of these hats.
