{~**Merry Christmas**~}

Have a Very Merry, Merry Blessed Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!!! Hope You are Enjoying the Holiday's!!! {OPT} This is the Snowman ornament I made. One of those last minute type of ideas. Next to it is one of the ornaments dd taught me how to make last year by adding a couple two or three different craft or acrylic paints to the inside of a clear glass bulb. Swirl, drain out extra paint and let dry. Put hanger back to hang on tree. You can see part of one of the other ones. I think the lighter ones show up better on the tree at night. Happy Holiday's, Merry Christmas and God Jul in Swedish!!!

{~*~Post Office~*~}

Mailing Christmas Cards, she had put on a upside down stamp, by accident on one of the envelopes. Is that all right, she said? Yes, Do you know what that means? Her answer, I Love You? I Love You Too, he says! It causes her to smile with a little giggle to go along with it. He explains how it all started. She says; Oh, I had thought it started this way? He goes into more of how it all began. Such a nice Postman. He's always being so nice to people! I Like that about him. Happy Solstice He says. Explains it. Oh, You Too! Have you smiled or giggled or said I Love You, today? You never know when someone just might need to hear they are loved! You never know just how much it might make the difference in their life! I want you to know you are loved! {{{Hugs}}}

{~*~Read Matthew 11:28-30~*~}

Brought out the Nativity and put it up,also the white glitter sliegh and decorated the tree with some dd & mine marblized painted glass ornaments we made last year. The lighter colors show up better on the tree.

{~*~*~Mumblina~*~*~}

This is the result of the Mumblina Pattern I spoke about in an entry in November. I traced that Vintage Dala horse behind the Pink Pony and tweaked it and came up with this pony. All the embellishments were a progressive thought. Vintage buttons, Even a heart button, recycled jeans, shirt and the pink material came from the Goodwill. That moose next to it came from the Goodwill also. It is musical. You just move it and a beautiful sound comes from it. The little russian doll I'll have to look up the name is also from a Thrift Shop. We don't have our tree decorated yet. I called the Pattern Mumblina because I didn't want to say yet at the time what I was making till I was finished. My first attempt turned out to look like a cat. Smaller and I am not finished with it yet. I still have some things to learn about making stuffed animals. Maybe tweaked isn't the right word. Maybe I should say I made adjustments to the traced Dala to make it into the pony. Two other photos below of it. Hope Your Enjoying the Holiday Season Everyone! {Saddle} {Belly Bottom} {Stuffed Toy Tutorial} {Mumblina Pattern} {My First Attempt}

{~*~*~*(Saddle)*~*~*~}

This is a view of the sad- dle and mane and tail. Jeans and recycled paisley shirt of mine. I decoupage that shotgun poster onto that piece of redwood. That little sleigh you see is also from the Goodwill. Shalom

{~*~*(BellyBottom)*~*~}

This is what the under- neath part looks like. I also put three white flower buttons on a cute jumper to give my dgrd. I used my feather weight vintage singer sewing machine and also some of it I stitched by hand.

{~*~Movie~*~}

The movie, The Bible In The Beginning 1966 with lots of the oldie but goodie actors and actresses in it, was on last night on TBN. Michael Parks as Adam. John Huston playing the voices of God and he is Noah in the moive also. Peter O'Toole as the three angels. Georage C. Scott as Abraham. Ava Gardneer as Sarah. Stephan Boyd was in it and others. Look it up online if your interested. It was really good. I know It's a Wonderful life was on too last night, but we have it on video. So we can watch that anytime during the Holidays or anytime for that matter. Hope Your Lives and Holiday's are Blessed and Happy!

{~*~Egg Substitute~*~}

I was reading in the Reminisce magazine about a woman that learned what to use as a substitue for an egg in a cake. She had said that in the winter when her grand- mother was making a cake and didn't have an egg, she went outside to get a spoonfull of soft snow and folded it into the cake just before putting it in the oven. She had said, she did this herself, too. I really like the stories in this magazine that people send in about the old days. Here is a link for it. http://www.reminisce.com I am really curious about this substitute and wonder if anyone else has tried this? More storms on the way so, I have to shut down the computer for now. Have a Blessed Day!

{~*~Vintage Sewing Info~*~}

http://vintagesewing.info/1950s/52-hmh/hmh-toc.html I was looking for a pattern to make a beret and found some patterns for different hats you can make at the link I provided. I had made a hat b/4 from a coat. I am not one who likes to wear a long coat, so I cut part of the coat off and made a hat to match. I gave it away eventually to a Thrift Shop. I don't remember if I ever took a picture with my camera of it or not. It was the first hat I had made and I used the lining from the coat inside the hat also. If you are needing gift ideas you might give one of these patterns a try. Think of what you can refashion if you don't have any material to make one of these hats.

{~*~Advent Calendar How to~*~}

Link:{Advent Calendar}

{~*~Waste Not~*~}

A few tips: Add water to liquid soaps and put cap back on and shake it up. Let it stand and all the bubbles will settle or use right away, if need be. I can get more loads of wash by doing this. I put my last bits of leftover bar soap in a mesh bag I recycled and tied the ends and used them up that way. One time I cooked a bar cookie to long and it got rock hard but not burnt. I let it cool. Than I added milk and put it back in the oven to cook. It turned into pudding. Yummy and it didn't have to be thrown out.

{~*~Flaxseed Micro Pillow~*~}

Dd brought home some material to make Flaxseed Microwave Pillows. She had bought the dark flaxseeds but since then has found out the golden ones are better for this project. So I set up my Featherweight and made my first one last night. I had some lavender and let me tell you, a little lavender will do, if you add it to the seeds. We did read though that about the 12th time the scent wouldn't be as strong. She loved it and let me use it last night to warm my bed. I had wrapped it in a towel and put it at the bottom of my bed under the blankets. I have a hard time going to sleep if my feet are not warm in the cold months of the year. The next ones we make are going to be with covers that way they can be taken off and washed. I won't have to wrap it in a towel that way either. If a 100% cotton is used you have to wash in cold water and air dry. Otherwise they will shink in warm or hot water and in the dryer. I know I seen a tutorial on this but I can't seem to find it. I think the way I will make the covers is sort of like making a pillow sham, but a little different. I'll let you know what we come up with. Do your research for microwave wattages are different. Not all microwaves are the same. That will determine how long you microwave it. That and the size of the pillow. We are also going to make pocket ones. Check out my other blog entry that I added tutorial links for other gifts you can make. Scroll down to this months blog entries list to find it. Have fun making handmade gifts! Happy Holidays!

{~*~Egg Nog~*~}

Tip from a dsil: If you buy Egg Nog and you think it is to thick for your liking, just add milk. I figured out the add- ed benefit to this is the Egg Nog won't be used up as fast, and if your needing more servings that will help out a little on your budget too. I like it much better myself this way. You can put a little freshly grated nutmeg on top of each serving if you'd like. Happy Holidays To You!

Wild Strawberries

Anders; Ah, when creation shows so much beauty, how radiant must be it's source! Sara; It's you I really love, you know. Today, tomorrow, always. Isak; I'll remember. Isak in another scene just before he went to sleep; If I have been worried or sad during the day, it often calms me to recall childhood memories. Some favorite lines of mine in the movie, Wild Strawberries. A 1957 Swedish Film by Igmar Bergman. Anders was played by Folke Sundquist, Sara's part was played by Bibi Andersson, Professor Isak Borg was played by Victor Sjostrom. It was about an old Professor traveling to recieve an honorary degree and forced to come to terms with his faults, face his past, and to accept the inevitability of his approching death. I like how Sara was pronounced in the movie. I like the name Folke.

Korean Trees

Read Dr. Schuller's Weekly Message about God's Dream for Your Life at, The Hour of Power Web Page. http://www.hourofpower.org/ In it he talk's about why all the trees were gone in a certain part of Korea. This is a verse in the Bible about trees that I thought kind of goes with the why the trees were missing in Korea when there was a famine. I turned right to the part of the verse that I was looking for. I think that is amazing. It shows me God is with me. Genisis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Makes me want to know more about trees. I know there are cures for what ail's a person in plant life. I have a book that talk's about a little girl in the Depression era. It talks about her family only having potatoes to eat. She was the only one that lived through it in her family. Why? Because she is the only one who ate the peel of the potato. It was her chore to take out the peelings to the compost pile. She ate them instead and lived. Also another family only had herbs to eat and that is what kept them alive. It is in a Raw Food book, that I read about it. Have a Blessed Day Week!

Computer Issues

Having computer issues, so I won't be visiting blogs like I'd like to. I had to sign under guest but couldn't get here at all for a day or two. I can't remember. Just so you know. Cleaning out still. Letting Go, Going Through. Hope Everyone is Well and Happy! Verse in Bible to start the day. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips. (Psalm 63:1-5, KJV) Because the road is rough and long, Shall we despise the skylark's song? Sense of Self

This morning I was watching a Home Garden Show. An artist was on the show teaching a couple of women how to paint with watercolors for Nature Journaling. She wrote a book called, A Pacific Northwest Nature Sketchbook by Jude Siegel. One of the thing's she talked about was looking at what you were drawing without looking at the paper that you were drawing on. I use to do that a lot when I was young. I think I'll try doing it again for the Self-Portrait Challenge.

Light in Time

I went a different way on my walk today. Up the street and down another. Is it the time of day or is it the way the light shines that takes you back in time. A memory you can not pin point when it ever happened but a thought comes in from what once was, that will never be again repeated. Even the smell's in the air bring you to that very moment. Maybe even a lot of different moments that intertwine. You just can't remember what it was though that brings you to this place in your thought's. Maybe it is a longing. Could it be longing for someone or to change something that you wish you could, but you can't. I am not sure. It makes you feel lonely even though you know your not alone.

Alexandra Stoddard...

I have a lot of Alexandra Stoddard books. I received them as gifts and given them to people too. I seen Living a Beautiful Life by Alexandra Stoddard on the bookshelf at the Library and brought it home and read it. I bought it with some Christmas money my Dad sent me one year. I love giving the book she wrote called, Grace Notes to people as a gift. I don't see Grace Notes in her Library, but you can go to an online book store and order it. Alexandra Stoddard Grace Notes Insights, Reflections, Inspirations, and Quests of Every Day of the Year A book of daily meditations. There is a quote and some words she has written and a place on the daily pages that you can write your own Grace Notes. Here is a link to Alexandra Stoddard's book's: http://www.alexandrastoddard.com/library.asp

Noah and Trusting God...

I woke up this morning thinking about Noah. About Trust. I woke up thinking what would of happened if Noah didn't Trust God? If he would of let what people thought was a foolish act on his part determine the outcome of his life, instead of listening to God. Someone posted on Sarks site awhile ago, not sure how many years ago that Noah's Ark was built by Amateurs and the Titanic by Professional's. Note: Just one of those days when Glitter might be the Solution. For now anyways.
